FAQ: DECT Phones and Headsets

Cordless phones and cordless headsets can be useful add-ons to your Siemens desk phone. These phones and headsets can use several types of technology for communicating between the headset itself and the base unit. These technologies include Bluetooth, 802.11, 900MHz, 1.9GHz, etc.) Some of these technologies can be confusing and will interfere with the wireless network in use throughout the organization. Because of this, SBUMC IT Division has put together a listing of approved Headsets and Cordless Phones that can be used. Please select a headset from the list below if you looking to purchase such a product. If you need to choose a product outside of these below for a special feature, you must choose a unit that operates in the DECT 6.0 Frequency (1.9 GHz). If you have purchased a product that conflicts with the SBUMC wireless network, this can impact patient care considerably and will need to be removed from service.
